Frequently Asked Questions

I don't know my contract details
With a copy of your latest bills and a valid letter of authority we will find out the exact details of your current contracts.

Letter of authority
Under the data protection act we need a letter of authority to allow us to access your information from your current suppliers. The letter of authority does not allow us to make any decision on your behalf or to commit you to any contract without your written agreement.

I'm not on a contract
Businesses which are on 'out of contract' rates are often paying as much as 400% more than they should be - with the possibility of up to 4 price increases per year.

What do Power Solutions do with my company details?
We are registered with the data protection agency and although your details are stored in our own in-house database system they will not be given to a third party. All your company information is kept confidential at all times.

What about VAT and CCL?
Registered charities, nursing homes and churches don't have to pay CCL (climate change levy) and are also entitled to reduced VAT. If this applies to you we will make sure you only pay what you need to, and can back date your claim if you have been overpaying.

Do I have to sign a contract to use your services?
No, we don't ask you to sign a contract with us and you're under no obligation to take any of the prices we offer you.

Can we go Green?
Yes you can. A number of suppliers now offer the option of contracts ranging from 10% to 100% Green Energy.

How do I cancel my contract and switch supplier?
We can do this for you. To change supplier you must send a notice of cancellation prior to the end of your existing contract, cancellation periods for some suppliers are as far as 90 days in advance. Please check your existing suppliers T's & C's.

Will I be without power if you cancel my contract?
No, you won't ever be without supply.

Can my current supplier stop me from changing?
Your current supplier can only oppose a switch if your contract hasn't been cancelled in time or you have an outstanding debt. Depending on your new supplier the switch can take from as little as 10 days to up to 6 weeks to complete.

I'm moving premises
When you move premises you can enter into a new contract with whichever supplier you chose - we can arrange all this for you.
